    By-law Compliance Checker
    bylaws.saltspring.info
A web tool that lets Salt Spring Island residents and property owners check whether a proposed project complies with local land use bylaws and the Official Community Plan. Users can look up their property by civic address or PID, then describe what they want to do in plain language. The app identifies the relevant zone, development permit areas, and applicable bylaw sections, then analyzes the full text of Land Use Bylaw 355 and OCP 434 against the query and returns a detailed compliance report with specific section references.

    OCP Analyzer
    ocp.saltspring.info
A free tool that lets Salt Spring Island residents explore and critically analyze their Official Community Plan (Bylaw No. 434). It indexes all 1,202 policy sections and lets users ask plain-language questions, with answers grounded in the actual policy text and cited by section number. The tool also surfaces structural findings from a critical review of the plan: vague and undefined terms, internal contradictions, weak enforcement mechanisms, and gaps in external regulatory alignment.
